Our Approach

We may use any combination of acupuncture treatment therapies during your treatment sessions that may best help you get better.

Acupuncture - The insertion of very thin, flexible needles into specific points in the skin to promote blood circulation to targeted areas. This in turn activates your body’s immune and nervous systems, reducing inflammation and releasing endorphins to alleviate pain and other conditions.

Moxibustion - This treatment uses an herb called Mugwort. It may be burned on the handle of the needle, above the skin, on salt or on a slice of ginger. This is used to "warm" acupuncture points to quicken the healing process. Moxibustion is also commonly done with warming pads by many acupuncturists.

Electric Stimulation - Also referred to as Electro-Stim is a technique where a low level electrical current is applied to the acupuncture needles located at various points on the body. This is done to further stimulate the body's Qi and healing processes.

Cupping - This is a therapy used for sore muscles, tension, neck pain, and the common cold. In this therapy, your acupuncturist will place small glass or plastic "cups" over specific areas on your body. A vacuum is created under the cup using heat or suction. They may be moved over an affected area or left in place. You may leave the office looking as though a large octopus gave you a big hug. There is no need for alarm. The slight redness will dissipate.

Herbal Medicine - Herbal remedies have been around for centuries and long before modern medicine. They are used to heal illness, disease and address psychological concerns. Herbal Medicine can treat conditions such as: Asthma, Eczema, Premenstrual Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Migraines, Menopausal Symptoms, Chronic Fatigue, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and more...

Eating Disorder Therapy - Overeating, undereating, anorexia, bulimia are all tough conditions to treat. Using Acupuncture, we evaluate your condition with every visit and work toward achieving goals that ultimately help you recover and stay in good health.

Acupuncture Treatment Session

Treatment sessions last approximately one hour. Sessions typically begin with a discussion of your health status and progress. Afterward, needles may be inserted to begin your treatment.

Expect to relax for 20-30 minutes while the needles stimulate your natural healing process. Following this, another series of points may be selected to complete your treatment as you continue to relax.
